Directions:
Combine first 6 ingredients in a small bowl. tossing “ell. Spread in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until toasted: set aside. Combine 1% cups cheese and next 9 ingredients in a large bowl. Add broth. stirring just until moistened. Spoon into a greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish. Sprinkle with remaining '/2 cup cheese ‘ and reserved pecans. Bake. uncovered. at 350° for 50 to 55 minutes or until set and lightly browned. Garnish. if desired. Yield: 12 servings.

  • 7.0 cups cornbread crumbs *
  • 6.0 cups biscuit crumbs (buttermilk)
  • 15.25 ounces kernel corn (drained)
  • 4.5 ounces green chiles (chopped and drained)
  • 2.0 Large eggs (beaten)
  • 0.25 cup cilantro (fresh chopped)
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 3.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1.0 bunch cilantro (Fresh - Garnish)
Notes:
* 1 (28-0unce) package of frozen Sister Schuberts Southern Cornbread is equal to 7 cups cornbread crumbs.
